From research to framework

The RBL Framework was developed as part of my master's thesis in Digital Solutions for Design and Media at LAB University of Applied Sciences.

The research explored how human factors can inform the design of spatial user interfaces in extended reality (XR). It drew on prior research on cognitive load, ergonomics, calm technology, spatial interaction, and XR design to develop a systematic approach to spatial UI design.

This website presents the current, evolving version of the framework, while the thesis presents the original published version of the RBL Framework and documents the research behind it.
